January Come Follow Me Handouts: The Godhead

I'm so excited that it's January! Not only is it the start of a new year, it's also time to start over with Come Follow Me! I love studying it all, but I especially love going back to the basics and returning to the big picture. The doctrine of the Godhead is so essential to understand, and so this month I've selected some powerful quotes which have been influential in teaching me about the Godhead.
These aren't in any particular order, since most of them could be useful in more than one lesson.

I love John 17:3 for how simple and profound it is. Eternal life is knowing God. And with our revealed doctrine we see that a correct understanding of the nature of God is essential to Eternal life!

I was reading through some of the talks in the lesson outlines when the words "PRESS FORWARD" stood out to me. How perfect is that? Elder Bednar gives us the perfect example of how to press forward through the Atonement. 

D&C 76 is one of my favorite sections, and verse 22 is especially powerful. Joseph Smith's three-word testimony is so profound, and one small detail that has always impressed me is the fact that exclamation points cost more than periods back with printing presses, but it was that important to include that added emphasis. 

Understanding how the Holy Ghost works is so important, and this reminder of why we live worthy from President Eyring is so powerful!

This is such an amazing quote. When we do understand that we are children of Heavenly Parents, we know that we have the potential to become like them. 

President Packer always taught the importance of family, and in this quote he reminds us of the family relationship we have with God. 

This quote from Joseph Smith's King Follett Sermon is life-changing when it's really internalized. 

I love Sister Wixom. She seems so gentle, but she gets straight to the point! Once we know we're children of God, how do we let that knowledge transform us?
